Connect Instagram
Prepare the correct Instagram account, complete beta approval and OAuth, and recover from common connection failures.
Prepare the account you intend to use
- Use the Instagram Professional or Creator account that owns the posts you want Diem to monitor.
- Make sure you can sign in to that Instagram account and approve Meta permissions.
- Use your real Instagram username in the Diem access request; the leading @ is optional.
- Use a phone number where you can receive the beta-approval message.
Request access or connect
Open onboarding or Settings
New sellers connect during onboarding. Existing sellers can review the Instagram connection from Settings.
Request beta access if prompted
Enter the Instagram username and phone number, then choose Request Access. Diem shows a waiting state until the account is approved.
Continue to Meta
When connection is available, follow the Instagram authorization screen and approve the requested access for the intended account.
Return to Diem
Diem should show the Instagram username and a connected state. Refresh the account data from Settings before creating a keyword.
If Diem asks you to accept a tester invite
The tester-invite flow is conditional beta setup, not normal sign-in. Sign in to Instagram on the web, open the Apps and Websites area requested by Diem, accept the pending Diem tester invitation, and then return to the seller app.
Connection troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |

| The onboarding page says you are on the list | Wait for approval. The account cannot complete OAuth yet. |
| Meta shows the wrong Instagram account | Cancel the authorization and sign in to the intended Instagram account before retrying. |
| Diem returns to onboarding but does not show Connected | Open Settings and refresh the connection. If it remains disconnected, capture the time and non-sensitive error text for support. |
| Posts do not appear when creating a keyword | Refresh Instagram from Settings, confirm the connected username, and allow time for media synchronization. |
| DM sending stops after previously working | Confirm automated messaging remains enabled and review Meta messaging-window or permission restrictions. |
